Child vulnerability to public health problems. A bioethical approach

Abstract:
Child vulnerability in the context of public health problems constitutes a first-order ethical challenge requiring interdisciplinary analysis from bioethics. This article examines the structural, relational and dynamic dimensions of the vulnerability of children and adolescents facing health crises, adverse social determinants and climate emergencies. Through a review of scientific literature indexed in SCOPUS, four problematic axes are identified: the tension between emerging autonomy and paternalistic protection; distributive injustice in the allocation of health resources; the systematic exclusion of childhood in research and public policies; and the intergenerational dimension of environmental crises. It is concluded that child vulnerability should not be conceived as an inherent and immutable condition, but as a social and political construction that demands bioethical responses guided by the principles of justice, equity and participation.

Unilateral tubal twin ectopic pregnancy: a case report and literature review

Abstract:
Twin ectopic pregnancy is a rare entity, and its unilateral tubal presentation remains exceptional. We reportthe case of a 30-year-old woman, gravida 2 para 1, admitted for pelvic pain with 6 weeks of amenorrhea.Ultrasound revealed an unruptured evolving twin ectopic pregnancy at 7 weeks and 1 day of gestation, with aplasma β-hCG level of 42,750 IU/L. Laparoscopy revealed a fissured right-sided ectopic pregnancy managed bytotal salpingectomy, and histopathological examination confirmed the twin nature of the pregnancy. Throughthis case and a review of the literature, we discuss the diagnostic and therapeutic particularities of this rarecondition.

Abstract:
Candidiasis refers to a fungal infection that occurs due to an excess of the Candida albicans fungus, amicroorganism typically present in the human body. It can affect multiple areas, including the mouth, skin,nails, and genital regions, leading to irritating symptoms such as itching, burning sensations, redness, and theappearance of white patches. Various elements contribute to its onset, including weakened immune defenses,prolonged antibiotic usage, diabetes, pregnancy, and insufficient hygiene practices.

Sex Steroid Hormones Regulate the Function of the Sexual Organs

Abstract:
A hormone is a type of chemical that cells release into bodily fluids to influence the actions of other cells.Endocrine glands primarily secrete various cystic hormones. The endocrine system works alongside thenervous system to help the body function smoothly and in a coordinated manner. Hormones travel throughthe bloodstream, reaching various organs and tissues to perform their functions. They manage essential bodyactivities like growth, reproduction, tissue renewal, metabolism, stress adjustment, and bone strength, amongmany others. Steroid hormones share a chemical structure with cholesterol and are typically derived from it.They are produced by glands like the adrenal cortex, ovaries, testes, and placenta.
